Welcome to the SEEN:app Focus Group
Follow these simple steps to join your class and get started with SEEN:app
Your Class Code
1Download SEEN:app
On your smartphone, visit the link below to download SEEN:app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).

2Navigate to "Join a Focus Group"
After opening the app and completing initial setup, go to the Back Page tab (far right), then scroll down and tap "Join a Focus Group".
Note: You won't see the UNK banner yet—it will appear after you enter your class code in the next step.

3Enter Your Class Code
Tap "Have a Class Code?" and enter your class code:
You'll see a confirmation message, and within a minute the UNK logo and your class banner will appear on the Back Page.
Success! "Welcome to General Psychology!" (or Clinical Psychology) will appear.
4Complete Your Missions
The Focus Group tab will appear in your navigation. This is where you'll:
- Accept the Terms & Conditions
- Track your progress
- Find and complete your missions
⚠️ Important: Accept Terms & Conditions First!
Your progress won't be visible to your instructor until you accept the Terms & Conditions in the Focus Group tab. Do this right away so we can track your participation. Don't worry—any journaling you've already done will still count!

Note: You may see conflicting numbers in the missions list—this is a known display issue. Complete the 3 missions shown. This will be fixed in the next update.
Getting to Know the App
A quick tour of what you'll find in SEEN:app
▶ Now Tab
Your daily home base. Here you'll find:
- Daily Journal Prompts — Fresh prompts each day to guide your reflection
- Open Space — A digital scrapbook where you can add photos, notes, memes, encouraging quotes, or anything meaningful saved to your phone. What's really cool is that Fathom Kairos (the AI guide in the app) can help you process each item you add. It's a great place to log important moments.
- Talk to Fathom — Chat with Fathom in real time, either by voice or text. In voice mode, Fathom's responses will play back to you.
Tip: If you journal regularly (more than 2x a week), a special prompt from Patterns & Echoes will become available once you generate an Echoes report.
👥 Focus Group Tab
This tab appears after you join with your class code. It's your hub for the focus group—accept the Terms & Conditions, track your progress, and complete your missions. Everything you need for the class study is here.
🌊 Echoes Tab
This is where your insights live. Generate two types of reports based on your journal entries:
- Choose Your Trajectory (CYT) — A high-level overview to help you be intentional about how your week wraps up
- Replay the Week's Arc (RWA) — Review how your week went with tagged emotions and key moments
These reports also generate custom prompts you can use in addition to (or instead of) the daily prompt. Past reports are saved under "Past Insights."
📖 Stories Tab
Serialized fiction exploring the inner life—stories about being seen... and unseen. Not required reading. Consider it a break from reality if you need a good story to get lost in. Written by Ben Kraker, the app's founder.
📝 Back Page
The place where all the important stuff is kept, ready for quick access:
- Fathom Customization — Pick your preferred avatar (or create your own!) and choose Fathom's voice
- Profile Details — Update your name, pronouns, and other info
- Welcome Guide — Missed something during setup? Revisit it here
- Settings — Notifications, preferences, and general help
